Electromagnetic Shielding Effectiveness Testing (IEEE-299 Standard)
The IEEE-299 Standard defines uniform measurement procedures and techniques for determining the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of enclosures at frequencies ranging from 9 kHz to 18 GHz (extendable from 50 Hz up to 100 GHz) with linear dimensions greater than or equal to 2 meters.
The enclosures covered include single-shield and double-shield structures of various construction types—such as bolted demountable, welded, or building-integral installations—manufactured using materials like steel plate, copper or aluminum sheet, screening, hardware cloth, metal foil, and specialized shielding fabrics.
